£28 million bill for school transport in Denbighshire over seven-and-a-half years

DENBIGHSHIRE County Council expects to spend ₤ 28 million on school transportation over a seven-and-a-half-year period.

Members of the authority’s cabinet will consider a report when they meet on Tuesday (June 26) relating to establishing a process for acquiring school transport to cover the duration till 2026.

Members are anticipated to approve a system that will allow council officers to run mini-competitions for transportation business to supply their services to the authority.

“To continue to comply with the council’s agreement treatment rules and EU legislation, the council is required to continue to use competitive tendering.”
